FULS: New Beginnings!

It’s the launch of our new, improved and rebranded website (and Facebook) for the Federation for Ulster Local Studies! This year, 2025, marks the fiftieth anniversary of FULS first conference in Coleraine in 1975.
It’s been a long journey, but 50 years on we have over 70 member societies from across Ulster all actively engaged in studying their local townland, village, town, parish and beyond!
We’re already planning celebratory events later this year to mark our birthday/anniversary, but we’re also looking to the future.
The question on our minds is what will the next fifty years mean for FULS!?
We want to hear from our members to see what they want from us- what support they need moving forward. We’ll be reaching out to our member societies individually later in the Summer but in the meantime feel free to get in touch with us at info@ulsterlocalstudies.org with your ideas about how we can best support local studies in Ulster.
